Music Alive Assembly

On Friday 9th June 2017, children at Parklee were treated to a special musical assembly from Wigan Music Service.  They listened to live music showcasing the instruments from the percussion family.  The children loved the different instruments and found out that you can make lots of different notes from playing a simple triangle in different ways.  The teachers from Wigan Music Service also gave out information to the children to tell them about how they could have lessons in school to learn to play any instrument.  Children in Y4 commented that they have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play the flute and clarinet as part of the Wider Opportunities programme.

After the main assembly was over, children in KS2 and some parents were invited to watch a piano performance by children in school who take lessons.

It was a wonderful afternoon and a great end to the week!
